Bumi Yatra is run by Sama Yoga teacher Ingela, who also runs the yogastudio “Sama Yoga Bali – Under the Banyantree”, together with Sky and Sanna in Ubud, Bali. Together with her Balinese brother and Bali friends in the mountains she organises Bali nature and culture exploration trips. There are Junglehikes which takes you right into the deep forest, to waterfalls where you can swim out in the untouched water, bikerides through the open rice fields, and water trips in canoes. Bumi yatra is also meant to be a way to support the balinese who live in the mountains by giving them a way to earn money through guiding, as well as supporting a more eco-friendly tourism where the culture and nature is preserved in the most sustainable way.
Bumi Yatra also helps in the local school of Wanagiri.
“We mostly walk the unbeaten paths, where rarely visitors to Bali reach. We are a small operation, by choice, because this is the best way to maintain attention to detail, keep a personal contact with you, and still get out and explore with you, which we just love to do. Our aim is to remain a friendly organization that caters to small groups of discerning adventure travellers, who respect local culture and prefer to travel the less travelled path. In combination of wanting to let you truely know what Bali is all about, we also actively engaged in projects that through education will benefit the mountainpeople. Team Bumi Yatra came together back in 1999. We are as much nature-lover now as we were back in the old days. On top of this we just love to share this beauty with you and take you away from the common tourist-traps and to unique unbeaten paths & show you what Bali is really about.” /Ingela Borggren, Bumi Yatra
